St Mary's Bay is located on the south east Kent coast about 12 miles south of Folkestone on the A259. St Mary in the Marsh lies about 2 miles inland (west) of St Mary's Bay in the heart of Romney Marsh.
By Car
From the M20, at J10 Ashford, turn off onto the A2070. (right from London, left from Dover & Folkestone). Follow this road for about 1 mile and then turn off right, signposted Hamstreet and still the A2070.
Then follow the A2070 over the Marsh for about 8 miles until you come to the roundabout at Brenzett. Here, take the left turn onto the A259, through Old Romney to New Romney.
Go through New Romney High Street, cross the traffic lights at its north end and St Mary's Bay is about 1 mile further on the A259.
Turn left from the A259 down Jefferstone Lane, through St Mary's Bay village and follow the sign posts to St Mary in the Marsh, about 2 miles west of St Mary's Bay.
St Mary's Bay is on the 101 and 102 bus routes that run to Dover and Folkestone to the north and New Romney and Lydd-on-Sea in the south (see map of routes). The bus stops by the junction of Jefferstone Lane and the A259. For bus times, please go to the Stagecoach website.
By Rail
St Mary's Bay has a station on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR). Trains run to and from Dymchurch and Hythe to the north and New Romney and Dungeness to the south. Please visit the RH&DR website for timetable and fares information.
